It’s A Podcast Thing: Intro – Podcast Recommendations
Ok, I admit it, I am an NPR junkie. Once a week I use the Stitcher app on my Kindle or my SamSung S3 – Yup I still have an S3. It’s busted and all but it’s still working – and catch up on all my weekly NPR programs. Wait Wait Don’t Tell me!, Ted Radio Hour, and Fresh Air. I listen to Car Talk in the car on my way home from the gym. Lately I’ve been looking for new podcasts to listen to. I guess I’ve been looking to break my NPR addiction, or diversify. It can be overwhelming because they are so many out there, so I’m going to do a total random pick just like I used to do it at Barnes & Noble.
I could have used the Stitcher’s best list, but what fun is that; so I litterally googled “Podcast recommendation”, and cliked on the first link which was podcastthing.com. It’s pretty much a list of recommended podcasts compiled by Lea Thau. Lea has her own podcasts called Strangers and The Moth.
Lea is a Peabody Award-winning producer and director who has apparently mastered the art of story telling. She’s created and directed and produced more than 1,000 live story telling shows, and has taught storytelling to organizations around the country, including Google, Nike, Time, Inc. and many others.
Looks like I hit the jackpot with my search. Check out the ones I’ve explored so far (I’ll update the list as I keep discovering).
